Israel

God is good all the time.

All the time

God is good.

Many people who have only known me since I moved to Obodo Oyinbo would be shocked if I told them I used to be somewhat of a youth leader at Daystar when I was a teen.

Then I moved to Europe, and the rest is history…

but I digress.

When I was younger I loved reading the Bible. Cover to cover, book after book – I kept returning to the lives of God’s Chosen People over and over.

The Old Testament was just as engrossing as any of my favourite authors’ books, the New Testament was enlightening (but tbh it became too spiri spiri at times).

All my life I’ve been extremely inquisitive about Jewish people. As a life-long Christian, the Word and the Light have always been a companion (and Catholic school also put in a healthy dose of rosaries, mass, and The Angelus), however there was very little, if any, expounding on the plight of Jews from the ancient times or even modern day Israel.

I only found out about the extremity of the Holocaust, Auschwitz et al as an adult.

Ergo, I’ve finally decided to visit the Holy Land; as a Christian and, perhaps, a Judeophile, it would be an understatement to say this is going to be the one of the most significant trips of my life.
